Easy Two - Ingredient Cloud Dough

Easy Cloud Dough Ingredients

  • Hair conditioner. Any kind, as long as it’s creamy and CHEAP. Don’t use the expensive stuff. Keep in mind that your play dough will smell like the conditioner, so use something that smells great.
  • Cornstarch.
  • A bowl.
  • A popsicle stick or spatula.
  • Gel food colors (optional)

How to Make Cloud Dough

Put equal parts hair conditioner and cornstarch in your bowl, and start mixing them together. It will most likely look like marshmallow fluff at this point, which is way too wet.

Start adding more cornstarch in slowly and mixing as you go. You’ll end up with close to a 2 part cornstarch to 1 part conditioner ratio, but that depends on your brand of conditioner and cornstarch. Once it isn’t quite coming together with the spatula, use your hands and start squishing it together. If it’s too wet, add more cornstarch. If it feels too dry, add more conditioner. When you’re happy with the feel of your cloud dough, roll it up into a big ball!

If you want to add color, just grab some gel food colors. Separate your cloud dough into balls for how many different colors you want, and use your knuckle to make an indent in the ball. Add one drop of color to each ball.

Then fold up the dough around the color drop, and start mixing it in until the color is fully incorporated. If the dough feels too wet after adding the color, just sprinkle on a tiny bit of cornstarch and kneed it in.

Homemade potato fries with oil-free hummus dip!

Homemade potato fries with oil-free hummus dip!

Happy FryDay! May your day be as delicious as these fries were. 😋🍟

We decided to enjoy this plate of fries and hummus because we were too tired to prepare for something heavy. You’ll just need these golden potatoes, cut them into wedges and sprinkled with some smoked paprika, onion salt, and garlic powder. Spread out fries on baking sheet so they are not touching. Works really well on a silpat because it makes it crisp up better. Bake at 400F for 20-25 minutes or until golden. 👏🏽

Enjoyed these bad boys with homemade oilfree hummus (just replaced the oil with some Aquafaba—chickpea water), but guac definitely works. For even more balance, consider adding a sandwich (a bbq tempeh sandwich or a chickpea mash sandwich would be a perfect one here). 🥪

Homemade 2 Ingredient Play Dough

Homemade 2 Ingredient Play Dough

Kids has been crazy for Play Dough. There are lot of DIY ingredients on how to make play doughs all over the internet. Me and my 8 year old has tried a lot and this by far is the easiest!

If you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids with few ingredients, try this out! You’ll come up with a soft play dough which you can mold without cooking required.

2 things you’ll need:

  • Conditioner (Any hair-conditoner will do)
  • Cornstarch

Directions:

The correct ratio is 1 part conditioner to 2 parts cornstarch. I used one cup of conditioner and mixed it with 2 cups cornstarch in a large plastic and unused bowl and just mix it up. Stir until your preferred texture. Feel free to add  few drops of food coloring to the mixture to make different colors. Store playdough in a Ziploc bag when finished. Viola!
