This marshmallow shooter DIY is a childhood must do! It’s a simple kids activity that doubles as a science project and is so much fun you will end up playing with it even after the kids are asleep. True story. ;)

This version of the marshmallow shooter is made with a cake pop container so the next time you have one at a party make sure to save it–you can turn it into hours of fun for your kiddos!

How to Make Marshmallow Shooters

• cake pop container
• balloon
• scissors
• mini marshmallows
• rubber bands (optional)

Take an un-inflated balloon and tie a knot in the end. Then cut the bottom half (rounded part) of the balloon off. Stick the open end of the balloon on the bottom end of the cake pop container and you are ready to play!

If you have energetic shooters (like I do!) you may want to use a rubber band to reinforce the balloon. It will help it stay on no matter how hard they pull.

 

Experiment with your kids to see how changing the amount of marshmallows or force used changes the outcome. It’s a great way to get kids thinking critically and having fun!

If you have any plans or desire to have some fun water games going on at your house this summer, then these simple sponge balls are a must.

Sponge balls are so much better. Some people call them “sponge bombs”, but whatever you want to call them, they’re perfect for summer water games. They’re easy to make. They stay in one piece and can hold a lot of water. And, you can reuse them throughout the summer. Just dry them out and store them with your pool toys.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• 4 basic kitchen sponges (I buy mine at Dollar Tree)
• scissors
• a strong rubber band (or strong string)

STEP 1
Cut all of the sponges 4 even strips, length-wise

STEP 2
Bundle the sponge strips from all 4 sponges and wrap a rubber band around them in the center.

STEP 3
Fluff out the strips and arrange them so that they are nice and poofy!

And that’s it!!

Except now that you know how to make a sponge ball you should go ahead and make about a half a dozen more because your kids are going to be OBSESSED with the these.

This quick and easy Halloween kids craft can be made in under 30 minutes using items that you already have around the house!

The theme of this year’s decorations, which can be said every year about every holiday’s decorations, is 1.) simple and 2.) doesn’t take up too much space. These magnets fit the bill. Plus, our refrigerator is a happy place to play and these guys will add to the fun.

Gather up:

– smooth rocks
– paint
– paint markers
– magnets
– strong adhesive
– clear coat, optional

Choose the smaller, flatter rocks. If they are too big and heavy, they won’t stay put.Paint them up into Halloween creatures. Black cats, pumpkins and ghosts are Halloween-y to us. Use the rocks’ character. The ghosts look extra ghost-y due to their shape.

The black cats are my favorite.

Top it with a clear coat if you wish. It will make the paint last longer. Especially if they will be used as characters in various Halloween dramas. Use a strong adhesive to connect the magnet to the backside.

Stick it up and enjoy! :)
